Monasterio Santa María de Huerta
Soria
The Cistercian Monastery of Santa María de Huerta is an example of how architecture is at the service of the life that takes place inside it. The customs, routines and circulations of the monks have shaped the architecture of both the monastery itself and the annexed buildings throughout history.
This intervention recovers some of the outbuildings that were lost, such as the old latrines and the bakery, gives them a new use and adapts them to the current needs of the monks. In addition, the urban planning work establishes a dialogue between the different parts of the monastery, thus giving unity to the monastery as a whole.
